Favorite Food Allergy Friendly Fall Activities

Hey guys!  Fall is coming up very soon and these are some of my favorite things to do in Fall:

  1. Going into NYC and trying out a new Allergen Friendly restaurants (P.S. I check out Allergy Eats, Spokin, and Allergic Girl)
  2. Apple Picking:  It’s free of the top 8 allergens and I know where it is from.
  3. Redecorating my room!
  4. Making fall treats:  My favorites include homemade apple pie, apple crisp, pumpkin bread and oatmeal cookies.
  5. Playing field hockey and lacrosse
  6. Clothes shopping (Some of my favorites are PacSun, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and PINK)
  7. Traveling and visiting family over Thanksgiving break
  8. Going to local fairs and festivals
  9. Teal Pumpkin Project is a classic for Halloween!
  10. Reading with a cup of tea is SO relaxing! (One of my favorite reads at the moment is To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han and for the tea I use Bigelow’s)

None of this is sponsored BTW 🙂

Dee’s One Smart Cookie

Dee’s One Smart Cookie Website

review cakeDee’s One Smart Cookie is in Glastonbury, CT.  According to their website, “Dee’s One Smart Cookie is the only non-GMO bakery in New England that is devoted 100% to the production of gluten free, dairy free, tree nut free, peanut free and soy free products!”

What I like about Dee’s is that I can order any cake I want and I know it will be safe and delicious.  They make amazing customized cakes so you can feel safe too! My cake was delicious, moist, chocolatey, and fluffy!  It was the exact cake I asked for!

I chose a chocolate cake with “buttercream” frosting and “buttercream” chocolate filling!  But you can choose a wide variety of cookies, cakes, breads, and pastries.

Quick & Easy Allergen-Friendly Chocolate Croissants

One of my favorite recipes is my mom’s awesome (and quick!) croissants, what you will need is:

  1. Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
  2. Enjoy Life chocolate chips
  3. A bowl
  4. Mixing utensil
  5. Baking sheet with tinfoil on top

First, pre-heat the oven to 375 F.  Next, layout the baking sheet with the tin foil on it.  Then, you will need 1 cup of chocolate chips. Now, lay out the dough, and then add the chocolate chips.  Roll up the dough, and put it in the oven. Put it in for 9-13 minutes. You will now have delicious homemade croissants!  Hint:  You’ll know they are done when you can smell the chocolate from the oven.

Tip:  Make up a batch of these before any trip for a quick and easy snack!

Salmon Recipe

If you are like me, a very picky eater, then you have a tough time finding food that is safe and that you like.  Here is an all time favorite dinner that I make with my mom featuring one of my favorite fish (salmon).

What you will need is:

  • 2-lb. fillet fresh caught Salmon
  • 2 Lemons
  • 2 bunches of asparagus
  • one bunch of dill
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 3 tablespoons of Olive Oil

Rinse and dry salmon.

Put the washed/rinsed salmon on tin foil.

Drizzle one tablespoon of olive oil on top.  Crush 2 cloves garlic put on top.

Cut 1 lemon into slices, put on top.   Rinse dill and sprinkle that on top.

When that is done put on a hot grill and wash the asparagus.

Now break the tough part of the stem off of each one, then drizzle remaining olive oil on top along with one clove of crushed garlic!

Now put the on the grill and keep on checking it until the fish is no longer translucent and watch the asparagus until it is tender.

Voilá!

Hey!

Hi, my name Jill. I’m 13 years old and I’ve had food allergies for as long as I can remember.  My food allergies are a part of my daily life but I don’t allow them to define me.  I enjoy lacrosse, field hockey, acting, singing, traveling and especially cooking.  I am a very picky eater so I need recipes that are safe but also delicious.  I started this blog to share my recipes, tips, reviews of products and to raise awareness about food allergies.
